How does it work?

Voltarol osteoarthritis gel is an analgesic gel that acts directly on the affected area. Diclofenac is an active substance, it is a medicine from the group known as an anti-inflammatory and it is also an excellent pain reliever. Diclofenac works mainly by stopping inflammation, for example in the joints. The inflammations can cause sharp pain; by reducing them, and by the analgesic effect, the pain is greatly relieved. If you have joint inflammation, this medication works as an anti-inflammation treatment medication, your doctor will prescribe diclofenac to reduce symptoms as much as possible. In addition, the medicine also prevents them from swelling. Diclofenac is also often prescribed for menstrual pain. During menstruation, women can experience annoying pain in the back and abdomen. The discomfort is often very intense and the doctor prescribes this medicine. The active substance, also called diclofenac, relieves menstrual pain. Rare: Can affect up to 1 in 1,000 people

  • Inflammation of the skin, with blisters (signs of bullous dermatitis).

Very rare: May affect up to 1 in 10,000 people

  • Urticaria, with purulent blisters (a sign of pustular rash). Allergic reactions such as itchy rash or wheezing in the chest, difficulty breathing or swallowing, dizziness (signs of hypersensitivity).
  • Swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat that can cause difficulty swallowing, breathing, or speaking (signs of angioedema).
  • Sudden shortness of breath and a tight feeling in the chest with wheezing or coughing (signs of asthma).

Common: They can affect up to 1 in 10 people.

  • Skin rash (signs of dermatitis or rash). Redness of the skin (signs of erythema).
  • Itchy and burning skin (signs of itching and eczema).
  • Very rare: May affect up to 1 in 10,000 people
  • Increased sensitivity of the skin to the sun (signs of photosensitivity reactions).
